Why do people dream, dreams and bodies?

China was the first country to study dreams. Wang Fu, a litterateur of the Eastern Han Dynasty, said,'There are many strange dreams that receive and few do nothing.' That is to say, there must always be a reason for dreaming.

In order to capture dreams during the Western Zhou Dynasty, dreams were divided into six types in the Book of Zhou: one is upright dreams, the second is nightmares, the third is dreaming of dreams, the fourth is waking up dreams, the fifth is happy dreams, and the sixth is afraid of dreams.

Zheng Xuanwei of the Han Dynasty annotated it and explained the formation mechanism of dreams. Here, I should mention Zheng Xuan and Zheng Kangcheng, famous Confucian classics in the Eastern Han Dynasty. They were rarely called child prodigies and were good at astronomy and calendar calculations. He devoted his life to academic studies and annotated numerous classics. His Yi learning explained the classics of the Book of Changes with the theory of Yao Chen and the theory of Five Elements. He was the master of Confucian classics in the Han Dynasty and the great scholars of the world.

Zheng Xuan annotated six types of dreams, among which 'positive dream' means a natural dream without touching anything, without distracting thoughts. The second is a nightmare, which means a dream of amazement, and the dream is often full of terror. The third is 'dreaming', dreams caused by missing and recalling. 4. Wake up the dream, realize the time and the Tao and dream. Half-awake and half-asleep, even if you think about it occasionally, you can become a dream. The fifth is a dream of joy. If there is joy in the heart, there is a dream of joy. Sixth, fear of dreams, and dreams become dreams because of fear.

Simply put: What kind of dreams a person has is closely related to his physical condition and various experiences in daily life. The yin and yang qi in the body is uncoordinated and inappropriate, causing different dreams.

Regarding the six types of dreams, the most disturbing thing isthe 'nightmare'. You wake up in the dream and cannot calm down for a long time. There are also people who worry about nightmares, which indicate bad things to happen. In ancient Chinese tradition, there are many changes and ways to avoid taboos, which are called the solution of evil dreams.

Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty, has a method to avoid nightmares in 'Prescription for Emergencies and Thousands of Gold': There is no need to talk about the evil dreams at night. Dan eats them from the east on the water. He cursed: Nightmare affects vegetation, and good dreams become precious jade. There will be no blame. Also, dreams of good and evil are not good or evil.

'Zhuangzi·Qi Wu Lun':'If you have a great realization, then you will know that it is a great dream.' Dream is a kind of artistic conception language, always observing the heart and body. People are born with the qi of heaven and earth, and the laws of the four seasons are formed. The three treasures of the human body-essence, qi and god.
