Allegations of earlier dreams can be traced back to the Yellow Emperor period. Liezi·Yellow Emperor records a Huaxu dream. It is said that fifteen years after the Yellow Emperor ascended the throne, he slept and dreamed of visiting Huaxu Kingdom during the day. Huaxu Kingdom was very far away, and it was impossible to go by car or horse. Being able to play was all due to wandering around. There is no dignity or inferiority there. The people are calm and weak, do not have too much desires, and each one does not suffer from illness. It is simply a god-like life.

The story of Zhuang Zhou's dream of a butterfly is a household name. 'Zhuangzi·Qi Wu Lun' writes: 'In the past, Zhuang Zhou dreamed of being a butterfly, but Xuxu saw it as a butterfly, implying that he was suitable for his aspirations! I don't know the week. Soon after, he realized it, and he became Zhou. I wonder if Zhou's dream is a butterfly? Is the dream of a butterfly a week? Zhou and butterfly must have a division. This is called materialization.' It means that Zhuang Zhou dreamed one day that he had become a dancing butterfly. He was very happy and leisurely, and did not know that he was Zhuang Zhou. Later, when I woke up from my dream, I found myself lying stiff in the bed and not a butterfly. The legendary Tang Dynasty 'Story in the Pillow' is the original version of Huang Liang Dream. The story tells that in the hotel, Lu Dongbin gave Lu Sheng a pillow to sleep on. 'Nanke Dream' should be familiar to you, right? He published the legendary novel 'The Legend of the Prefect of Nanke' by Li Gongzuo of the Tang Dynasty. There are similarities between Nanke Dream and Pinzhiji. It is said that Chunyu Fen Dream became a great scholar of Huai Anguo, recruited him as the son-in-law, and also worshipped him as the prefect of Nanke County. He has been in charge of the county for twenty years, has made great achievements in political achievements, and has been greatly favored and appointed. Later, the Tanluo army invaded, and Chunyu sent generals to meet the enemy and was defeated. Soon after, the princess died of illness, and Chunyu was suspected by the king. He was finally sent back to his hometown. When he entered the family's door, he suddenly realized it in a dream. 'Nanke Dream' is intended to satirize those who secretly occupy high positions, saying that they are noble and prosperous, and that they are nothing that cannot be relied on to bully others. At the same time, it also promotes the idea that life is like a dream.

We often use the phrase 'Dream of Writing Flowers' to describe a person with great literary talent, and this idiom and allusion comes from Wang Renyu's 'The Legacy of Kaiyuan Tianbao·Dream of Writing Flowers' of the Five Dynasties: 'When Li Taibai was young, the pen he used in his dreams grew flowers on his head, which only lasted the day after tomorrow. Famous all over the world.' When Li Bai, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty, was not outstanding in poetry and prose when he was young. Once, after he dreamed that all the nibs on his desk had flowers blooming, his writing style greatly improved, so that he reached the point of 'Hundred Poems for Fighting Wine'.
